Densimeter

float strain gauge PT-1

Purpose

The densimeter is designed for automatic continuous measurement of density of solutions and pulps in open containers.

Application Area

Enrichment plants of ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy
Chemical industry enterprises
Food industry enterprises
Other industries

Principle of Operation

The principle of the densimeter is based on measuring the buoyant force acting on a float with special coating, fully immersed in the analyzed medium.

LED screen allows to monitor:

  • Instantaneous value of measured density
  • Current averaged density value
  • Output current corresponding to the averaged value

Advantages

Easy setup and operability verification
High reliability
Adjustable rejection of random high-frequency interference
High sensitivity
Clear information presentation
Ability to select output signal scale
Archive of average measured values available
No moving parts

Product composition

Float

Immersed in the analyzed medium

Strain gauge force sensor (FS)

Measures the buoyant force acting on the float

Microprocessor signal processing unit (SPU)

Processes data and outputs measurement results

Installation Method

1

The strain gauge sensor is attached to the support above the tank into which the float is immersed.

2

The float is suspended on a cable and placed in the calm zone of the process tank.

If there is no calm zone, a liquid stabilizer is installed in the tank, in which the float is placed.

3

The measuring unit (SPU) is mounted on a wall or panel at a distance of no more than 60 m from the sensor.
